How much will it cost?
Our fee is subject to negotiation based on the length of the engagement. Please call or email for a price quote, or look at our sample rates page. Educational, senior, and certain other concerts are eligible for a special grant from the "Music Performance Trust Fund," and can be surprisingly inexpensive.
Do I have to sign a contract?
Yes. We require you to sign a contract in advance that stipulates the fee, the time and place of the engagement, and certain other details.
Do the musicians come to the wedding rehearsal?
Not usually. We are experienced in adapting the music to the pace of the ceremony. However, if desired we can come to the wedding rehearsal for a small extra fee.
What musical styles do you play?
We generally play classical music plus certain popular songs.
What do you wear when you play?
We can dress formally (tuxedos, tails, or white dinner jackets for the men, gowns for the women), semi-formally (suits and ties, dresses), or casually.
How much space does the group need to set up?
Two musicians need an area of roughly 5 ft. by 4 ft. Three musicians need an area of roughly 7 ft. by 4 ft.
What kind of chairs do you need?
Almost any chair will do, as long as they are armless. We can also play standing, or even stroll around to different locations at your event.
Do you need any special equipment, such as lights?
Not usually. We bring our own stands, and can bring stand lights and a power cord if necessary. However, we must know in advance if the conditions will be dark.
Can you play outside?
Yes, but it is difficult to play in direct sunlight or rain. We need some kind of cover: tree, awning, umbrella, veranda, etc.
What breaks do you need?
We can play up to 50 minute sets, depending on the requirements of the job. We generally require one 10 minute break/hour. Breaks can be coordinated with the client.
What happens if we want the group to stay longer than originally booked?
There is a five minute grace period at the end of any engagement. Beyond the grace period, overtime is charged in 15 minute increments.
Do you take requests?
Yes, if we can get the music in advance from the client, on the Internet, or at a music store. Also, if you have a recording, we can often arrange the song. There might be an extra charge for this service.
